Ellen ten Damme

Multi-talent Ellen ten Damme released her first Dutch-language album 'Durf Jij?' in 2009, the result of a fruitful collaboration with master poet Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer. In 2010, she received a Golden Record for this album and won the Golden Nutcracker; the distinguishing award by performers for performers. In addition, she achieved overwhelming success as a leading lady with the theatre show Cirque Stiletto. She also crowned 2010 with the number one hit Wat is Dromen?, a duet with the 3Js. In 2011, her second Dutch-language album will be released.

TWOOLS 13

Ellen ten Damme made special guest appearances in TWOOLS 13 in 2011 Together with Ed Wubbe, she created various dance and music acts for Scapino's annual dance festival.

Ellen ten Damme on the collaboration with Ed Wubbe: "To work with Scapino Ballet Rotterdam is a dream come true for me. Why? My inspiration for what I'm doing now goes back to Kate Bush's first world tour. The way she combined dance and music made an indelible impression on me. To be on stage with Scapino soon is very special. Scapino is not afraid of experimentation, especially when it comes to 'blending' dance and music and, in my collaboration with artistic director Ed Wubbe, pop music. What I like about him is that it's not all predetermined, but that he starts from what the dancers have to offer and that the basis of the choreographies, apart from my number 'Durf jij', will be my latest Dutch songs."

Spitz

In 2012, another special collaboration between Ellen ten Damme and Scapino Ballet followed: Spitz!

Spitz, a challenging mix of new music, new choreography and spectacular visuals, was performed in theatres all over the country.  Eight dancers accompanied Ellen and her band. The music was taken from her (golden) album 'Durf Jij?' and her new album 'Het Regende Zon', which was released in the spring of 2012.
